Biography

Sarah Louise Gregory Townsend, 88, of Waynesboro, VA, formerly of Logan and Huntington WV, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Augusta Health.
She was born in Milton, WV on July 29, 1921, a daughter of the late Minter Jackson and Hattie Morrison Gregory.
She was a member of Zoar Baptist Church and the Waynesboro Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 105. Her true love was her family and the devotion they shared.
She is survived by her five children; David, Joan, Ronald, James and Susan; her grandchildren; Susannah, Michael, Melanie, Brian, Drew, Michael, Tina, Alexis and Ronnie and a number of great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Oscar Townsend; her brother, Russell; her sister, Elouise and her granddaughter, Crystal Mounts.
A family service will be held on Monday, February 1, 2010 at Zoar Baptist Church in Milton, WV at 1:00 PM with Pastor Millard Morrison officiating. Interment will follow in Keaton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Waynesboro Order of the Eastern Star in care of: Donna Kluefer, 100 Fairmont Drive, Staunton, VA 24401.
